There are many new technologies today that have made our life a lot easier. These new technologies are not only used for our leisure but also for educational purposes. Computers helps the kids learn and gain information in almost all things, microscopes with cameras helps kids see microscopic things and keep pictures of them, and also museums incorporates new technologies in explaining their collections. Science and technology helps us understand the questions that we seek to answer, understand and comprehend. Eye-opening truths have been revealed thanks to the researches and studies that have been conducted by the scientists and researchers in the field of science and technology. As science investigates other queries that have yet to be answered, there is one very useful instrument that goes hand and hand with experiments and researches, and that is the microscope.

A microscope is an optical instrument that magnifies the specimen under it to an image that you desire. The microscope is very important in studying and investigating things, especially with microorganisms. Microorganisms can only be seen through the aid of a microscope. Now that there are so many advancements in technology, the simple compound microscope has many new versions. Microscopes of today now have cameras, universal serial bus or USB’s, and even video capable.

One of the new and improved microscopes is the stereo binocular microscope. A stereo binocular microscope like any other microscope is used for viewing small things but it is different in a way because it is also for dissecting very small objects with double eyepieces so you can see the specimen  with both your eyes. This stereo binocular microscope is a suitable for young children’s use; they can view small things like caterpillars, small coins, or grains of sand for the reason that it is a low power microscope. The magnification of the stereo binocular microscope is 10x to 20x eye pieces, the doubled eyepieces is for dividing the one and the same image from the single objective of the same typical compound microscope to trim down the eyestrain and muscular exhaustion which could result from high power monocular microscope.

This type of microscope is also great for sorting, microsurgery, inspection of small circuit board producers and also for studying surfaces of specimens. This microscope is popular for its lengthy working distance and depth of its field and both of these characteristics is inversely proportional with the microscope’s resolution, the higher the resolution, the shorter the depth and working distance.
